He leaves his children Cindy Adam of Venice Kathy and Bill St. ![]() They also enjoyed working at the Sarasota County Elections office in Venice for many years. Al, along with Ellie, was very talented at creating and selling unique crafts and loved attending craft shows throughout Florida. Al was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9924 based at Our Lady of Lourdes where he was a past Grand Knight and a District Warden. Al and Ellie were both Stewardship Leaders for the church. They became very involved members of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Venice where he organized the Blue Mass every September to honor fallen first responders. In 1999, Al and Ellie moved to Venice, Florida, where they loved the beaches, the restaurants, and the warm weather. He was truly their greatest cheerleader and supporter. He spent an inordinate amount of time driving to hockey practices. Al also established the Vernon Friends of Music when his children were involved in the school music program and coached his son's Little League baseball team. He was very active in his community as President of the Vernon Rockville Rotary Club where he won the Paul Harris Fellow Award for exceptional service to the community. Al had a very successful business career in Connecticut, becoming CEO of Adam's Business Products, Inc. Al and Ellie moved their family from New London to Vernon, Connecticut, in 1967, where they raised their four children. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Lou Stegner of Fairborn, OH. He was married to his loving wife Eleanor (Ellie) Adam for 64 years. Al was born to Alfred and Marian Adam on June 8, 1934, in New London, Connecticut. passed away peacefully on June 3, 2019, at his home in Venice, Florida, surrounded by his devoted wife and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society, St-David’s parish or Diabetes Canada in Fred’s memory. The family would like to express a special thank you to all staff that cared for him during his stay at Pioneer Manor. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 am at St-David’s Church. The family will receive friends and family at St-David’s parish hall on Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9:30. Many laughs were shared when Fred would sing ‘’ En revenant de rigaud’’ and played his harmonica. He also loved gardening during his retirement years. Fred was a great host and enjoyed cooking fish fries for family and friends. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4435 and was actively involved in his community. Fred and Flo were the proud owners of the Voyageur Auto in Noëlville for 21 years where Fred worked as a mechanic. He will also be remembered by his brother’s and sister in-law’s (Pitre). Dear brother of Claire (Léon) Chartrand (both deceased), Angèle (Paul Brosseau (deceased)), Marie-Ange (Claude) Mayer, Rachel (Art) Lépine (both deceased), Gérard (Colleen) Carrière, Rénald (Huguette) Carrière, Marcel (Janet) Carrière Jeanne-D’arc (Paul) Courchesne, Jacques (Edith), Nicole (Denis) Nadeau. Also survived by his grandchildren: Stephanie (Tom), Mandy Carrière, PJ Gauthier (Valérie), Amy (Brad) Vernon, Karyne Carrière, Dominique David (Dimitri), Renée-Claude Carrière, Mika David, his great grandchildren: Dillon Milani, Kyra Vernon, Sophie Desrochers and his step-grandchildren: Catherine, Alexandre, Geneviève, Éric, Janelle et Michelle. He leaves behind his children: Lynn Carrière (Rick), Normand (Cheryl) Carrière, Roxanne (Francis) David, his step sons Germain (Lucille) Pitre, Bertrand Pitre, Paul (Marielle). ![]() Predeceased by his spouse Florianne Carrière (née Pitre) and survived by his spouse Jeannine Pitre (née Dupuis).
